Good day, my name is Liesan (pronounce ‘ie’ like ‘ee’ in see and the ‘a’ as in art) and I like to play with paper. Most of the time I am working hard to become a professional bookbinder and book-artist and that’s what this blog is about, mostly. I might wonder off to other arts and crafts and some more personal matters now and then.

Most of my skills were (and will be) self taught, have done some workshops in the past but found out I do better when I teach myself. I do intend to start a more formal two year course in bookbinding starting september 2010. I don’t have a real studio of my own but Lover gracefully lets me use almost all the desk space in the office-room we share, he’s a real treasure (not only for that, of course). We also have a nice patio where I can do marbling and paper making without having to worry about the mess.
My native tongue is not English but Dutch so I may make some very silly mistakes sometimes, I usually catch myself at it later and make corrections but I might not always. Please don’t hesitate to correct me if you should feel the need to do so, I won’t be offended.

Oh and I’m 30 years old, Live with two cats and the Love of my Life nearby Utrecht, teach Dutch sometimes (and homework classes and even English on a very basic level), have been a social worker in the past and am not nearly as perfect a person as I would like to be…
